The University of Southampton has achieved top positions in two new rankings out today (January 28).
The QS World University Rankings: Europe see the University of Southampton placed 17th in the UK and 33rd overall - a climb of one place.
While TIME Magazine's first university world rankings have placed the University of Southampton seventh in the UK and 39th globally, out of 500 institutions.
TIME's rankings are based on academic capacity and performance, innovation and economic impact, and global engagement.
Vice-Chancellor Mark E. Smith said the rankings demonstrated the strength of our University.
He added: "The impressive dedication and commitment our staff show in delivering a world class environment for education, research and enterprise underpins these outcomes."
