Speeding drink driver Christmas morning, South Australia

A man has lost his licence on the spot after being caught speeding and drink driving Xmas morning.

About 3.35am, Wednesday 25 December, patrols were conducting speed detection duties on Grand Junction Road, Gepps Cross when they detected a car travelling at 108km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

The driver was stopped and submitted to a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.170. Checks revealed the car was also unregistered.

A 27-year-old man from Hectorville was reported for exceeding the speed limit, driving unregistered and drink driving. He lost his licence for twelve months and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
