Speeding driver nabbed in St Albans Park

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after a vehicle was spotted speeding in Geelong last night.

Members of the Air Wing initially spotted the vehicle allegedly travelling at over 170km/hr on the Princes Freeway about 9pm.

Highway patrol officers attempted to intercept the vehicle with it allegedly failing to stop.

The vehicle was followed by Air Wing and the male driver was arrested on Trentham Parade in St Albans Park just before 10pm.

The 23-year-old Noble Park man has been charged with conduct endangering life and other traffic-related offences.

He was bailed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates' Court on 9 June.
