Melbourne West police caught a speeding P-plate driver on the Eastern Freeway early this morning.
Officers clocked a Honda Civic allegedly travelling at 174km/h in a 100km/h zone inbound on the freeway in Kew just after midnight.
Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old woman.
Her vehicle was immediately impounded for 30 days with towing costs of $850.
