Speeding driver's vehicle impounded in Kialla

State Highway Patrol Solo Unit officers impounded a speeding driver's vehicle in Kialla this morning.

Officers clocked a Volkswagen Golf allegedly travelling at 199km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Euroa-Shepparton Road about 10.20am.

Police motorcycle members intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 37-year-old man.

The Shepparton man is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.

His vehicle has been impounded for 30 days with towing costs of $1,240.

The intercept was part of Operation Focus, aiming to reduce road trauma and lives lost on our roads.
