Speirs urged to sack Suicide Prevention spox after allegations

Liberal leader David Speirs must sack his Shadow Suicide Prevention Minister Penny Pratt after stunning allegations in the media.

The Advertiser reports Pratt's former campaign manager Sam Diprose has called on her to resign "over claims his time working on her campaign contributed to his own attempt to take his life".

Mr Diprose also alleges in the days after his suicide attempt Pratt "deleted messages from his phone so they could not be used as evidence".

Mr Diprose was working for then Premier Steven Marshall at the time.

Mr Diprose is reported to have detailed his allegations in a letter to Speirs and Pratt.

Speirs and Pratt have so far refused to comment.

In addition to being Shadow Minister for Suicide Prevention, Pratt holds the portfolios of Regional Health Services, Ageing, Preventative Health and Mental Health.

If these allegations are true, it is untenable for her to hold any of these portfolios.
