Spoons Riverside

Swan Hill Rural City Council is delighted by the official announcement that Spoons Riverside is to change hands.

Council has been working closely with Murray Downs Golf and Country Club, during the negotiation period.

Spoons Riverside is undoubtedly a popular venue for locals and tourists alike and it has been dearly missed, following the recent temporary closure.

We are aware that the closure caused a great amount of concern and discussion throughout our community. We can assure you that Council officers have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the future of this popular venue.

Council expects the reopening of Spoons Riverside to complement two new building projects, the Swan Hill Art Gallery redevelopment and the Swan Hill Tourism and Cultural hub. During recent focus group sessions regarding the gallery redevelopment, it was made abundantly clear to us, that Spoons Riverside played a significant role in the success of these projects.

Council extends our thanks to Murray Downs Golf and Country Club for their significant contribution to our local hospitality and tourism sector, over the past 8 years.

We congratulate the new lessee, and we look forward to supporting her during the transition.
