A teen has been arrested after a machete was located during an operation conducted by Northern District members at the Salisbury Interchange.
During the evening of Wednesday 26 August, officers from Northern District Public Transport Team, supported by PD Rocky and Salisbury patrols, conducted a high-visibility operation at the Salisbury Interchange and surrounding licensed premises.
Police stopped and searched numerous people, conducting a total of 19 metal detector wand searches and issuing five expiation notices for offences including antisocial behaviour, traffic offences and drug-related offences.
Following a search of a 16-year-old boy, patrols located a machete. He was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 25 September.
A 34-year-old Adelaide man was also searched and a stanley knife was located. He was reported for carrying an offensive weapon and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Northern District police are committed to ensuring safety on the public transport network and in surrounding areas and will continue to conduct policing operations targeting antisocial behaviour.
