Are you a key or emerging leader in Spotswood or South Kingsville? Are you excited about the Better Places projects to make Spotswood and South Kingsville even better places to live, work and visit? Do you want to represent your community to implement the Spotswood and South Kingsville Place Guide?
Council is seeking 13 key and emerging community representatives to be part of the Better Places Spotswood and South Kingsville Local Leaders Focus Group.
The focus group would become a central 'think-tank', action group and voice for Spotswood and South Kingsville.
The key focus of the group will be to foster the energy and leadership within the local community to help deliver the Spotswood and South Kingsville Vision.
The Spotswood and South Kingsville Vision was developed following 12 months of consultation with the community and adopted as part of the Spotswood and South Kingsville Place Guide at the Council Meeting on 12 October 2021.
Sixteen projects have been identified to make Spotswood and South Kingsville a better place to live including projects that create safer streets for pedestrians and bike riding, advocating for better transport, highlighting and showcasing the area's history, improving local parks and creating pop-up community spaces, improving water linkages, developing a targeted planting program and advocating for housing choices.
The Spotswood and South Kingsville Local Leader Focus Group will play a lead role in supporting, planning, and delivering the projects and programs as well as identifying new activities and events that will help to activate key areas in Spotswood and South Kingsville.
