Springwood Library welcomes patrons to ‘Library in Loft’

As Springwood Library enters its exciting next phase, Blue Mountains Library Staff welcomed customers to a new temporary home ‘Library in the Loft’ from today (15 March).

‘Library in the Loft’ is conveniently located in Meeting Room 2, upstairs at Blue Mountains Hub in Springwood.

Springwood Library closed its doors at the end of February 2021 for a major redesign. The upgrade, funded by the Western Parkland City Liveability Program, will result in a modern, light-filled building, with full glazing to the south façade, excellent views, quiet study areas and a fully accessible lift.

“We know how important libraries are to our community,” Mayor Mark Greenhill said. “That’s why our dedicated Library Staff are offering this interim service while we wait for the wonderful new library at Springwood.”

Customers can also use Blaxland Library, or they can browse items at one of our other Blue Mountains Libraries. They can also borrow online and collect from the ‘Library in the Loft’.

At ‘Library in the Loft’ patrons can also:

  • Collect reserved items
  • Access WiFi and public computers (45 min limit)
  • Access photocopying, scanning and printing service
  • Return items via return bins in rear carpark.

‘Library in the Loft’ is open at Springwood Monday to Friday, 10am-1pm and 3pm-5pm. To browse online, access e-library services, or to locate other branches visit: https://library.bmcc.nsw.gov.au .

Council’s Customer Service has also now reopened at the Hub Box Office in Springwood, following its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-Midday.
