A Springwood resident in New South Wales has been swept off his feet with a $768,013.61 windfall from Saturday Lotto draw 4399, held on September 16, 2023. The man held one of the seven division one winning entries nationwide. News of the win came as a pleasant surprise when lottery officials contacted him on Monday morning.
"What a great call to get Monday morning!" the winner exclaimed.
"You get that many scam phone calls these days, so it’s refreshing that this is a nice one. I’ll be able to help the kids and set up our family. I'll pay off some of the mortgage, and my wife and I will be able to go to Europe! It’s something she’s always wanted to do."
The Springwood man purchased his 36-game QuickPick ticket online, using his favorite numbers.
"I usually play every week or every second week," he added, "I can’t wait to take some time off work!"
The winning numbers for the draw were 37, 28, 27, 11, 41, and 23, with supplementary numbers 2 and 1.
