St Albans hit and run investigation continues

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal hit and run crash collision which occurred in St Albans last night.

Officers have been told a 78-year-old St Albans man was struck by a vehicle near the corner of Main Road East and Erica Avenue about 9pm.

A passer-by called emergency services but the man died at the scene.

The vehicle did not stop to render assistance and is yet to be located.

Detectives believe a number of people were in the area at the time and wish to speak to the occupants of four vehicles seen on Main Road before the crash.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of three cars seen in the area at the time and wish to speak to the drivers of those vehicles.
