The City of Greater Geelong will be undertaking renewal works on approximately 70 metres of the existing seawall at the southern end of St Helens Park, Rippleside.
The project aims to rehabilitate a deteriorated section of the seawall that is currently affected by erosion and displaced boulders, and to upgrade the structure in line with contemporary design standards. Works will include reconstruction of the rock armouring, reinstatement of the rock protection surrounding the drainage outlet, and the use of materials that are consistent with the existing coastal character.
To ensure public safety during construction, temporary closures will be implemented within St Helens Park to accommodate the operation of heavy machinery, including an excavator.
These closures will commence on 21 April and are expected to remain in place for approximately one month.
We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation during these essential works.
