Traffic Enforcement Group officers are seeking information regarding a serious crash that occurred last night, Monday 8 May 2017 in St. James.
At around 6:40pm, a 21 year old man was delivering pizzas on a blue TGB moped. He was travelling in the left lane in a south easterly direction along Albany Highway. Near Walpole Street a vehicle travelling in a north westerly direction on Albany Highway collided with the moped. It is believed the vehicle turned across the path of the moped, WA Police say.
The force of the crash split the moped into two pieces. The rider received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Landcruiser, did not remain at the scene and drove away from the crash.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or either vehicle prior to the crash.
