Stabbing at Blair Athol, South Australia

A man is in custody after a stabbing at Blair Athol last night.

About 10.15pm Friday 6 August emergency services were called to a reserve on Leslie Avenue after reports a man had been stabbed.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and located the victim, a 29-year-old Parafield Gardens man in his car on nearby Alice Avenue with a number of stab wounds to his abdomen.

Patrols located and arrested the suspect, a 26-year-old Blair Athol man, at the reserve and placed him under arrest.

The victim was taken to the RAH in a serious but stable condition. The suspect was also taken to the RAH for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both men are believed to be known to each other.

The suspect is expected to be charged with aggravated assault cause harm and refused bail.
