Staff assaulted after shop theft, South Australia

Police are currently at the scene of a theft and assault at Gepps Cross.

Just after 12.30pm, Thursday 9 June, a man entered an electronics store on Main North Road and allegedly stole some items. He was challenged by staff as he was leaving and after returning several items, he allegedly produced a knife and cut a staff member's arm.

The suspect then left on foot and is described as being about 183cm tall, 25-30 years, medium build and wearing dark clothing.

Police are currently searching the area and anyone who has seen a man fitting the description, is asked to call the Police Assistance Line on 131444. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au

The staff member received a minor cut to their arm.
