Stage set for good scare this Halloween

Armidale Regional Council

The Armidale Mall will be overflowing with ghosts, witches, stilt-walkers, balloon-makers and roving characters for a major Halloween event on Friday 28 October from 5pm to 9pm.

Tattersall's Hotel will bring out a cordoned off licenced bar for the adults, local food trucks, live music on the new stage with Vinnie and the Cuban Missiles and the Memphis Moovers will be releasing their roving characters in mini cars on an unsuspecting Armidale crowd.

For the kids there will be trick or treating with lots of free lollies and a haunted grotto will be set up inside the gates of the old Courthouse with creepy skeletons and ghoulish characters ready to give everyone who dares enter a good healthy scare.

Armidale Regional Council Mayor Sam Coupland said he is extremely pleased to bring one of the first of many events that will be coming to the mall area to activate our CBD.

"As a parent of three children, I know just how much the kids love these sorts of occasions, especially dressing up and being part of an event with their friends," Mayor Coupland said.

"We are always looking for events that bring people together. We have the new stage for entertainment and we hope that people will shop in the CBD for their Halloween needs and arrive a little earlier at the Mall and spend some time browsing and shopping."

Armidale Regional Council has sourced grant funding for this inaugural event through the NSW Government's Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events program.
