Detectives from the Townsville Child Protection and Investigation Unit are appealing for information following the arrest of a 47-year-old Kelso man today, 5 September.
An investigation was launched in June 2024 following reports the man allegedly followed multiple women around shopping centres in Hermit Park and Thuringowa, and a Garbutt hardware store, making inappropriate comments.
No one was physically injured.
Following protracted investigations, detectives executed a search warrant a Kelso address and arrested the 47-year-old man.
He was charged with six counts of stalking, two counts of common assault and one count of possess dangerous drugs.
He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court at a later date.
Detectives believe there may be further victims and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
