The Stan Thompson Reserve play space in Brunswick Heads is being upgraded, with work on the new play area starting this week.
Malcolm Robertson, Manager Open Spaces and Facilities, said that the community feedback collected in 2024 has informed the new playground design.
"We heard from community feedback that they wanted a place to climb, slide and swing, and we will be incorporating all of these features into the upgraded space," said Mr Robertson.
The new play space will include:
- Treehouse play equipment, swings, a spring toy, and nature play area.
- Seating and new shade tree.
- A custom-made fence.
The project will take around four weeks to complete. The play area will be closed while it is upgraded.
This project is funded by the NSW Government's Local Small Commitments Allocation (LSCA) Program and Council's Asset Renewal Budget.
