Want to stand up for change in your community? This year, stand for council and be part of the change you want to see.

As a Councillor you can make a real difference to the Mornington Peninsula. This is your chance to influence and affect change for your community.

The in person and online candidate information session is being held on Wednesday 29 May by Municipal Association of Victoria and will include valuable information for prospective candidates such as the role of a councillor, the electoral process and campaign tips.

The session will include a presentation and discussion on the following topics, incorporating the CEO Panel, including John Baker, CEO Mornington Peninsula Shire:

  • About Local Government and the role of councils.
  • Why become a councillor?
  • The role of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and CEO.
  • How to nominate – candidate training, the VEC and the election process.
  • What to expect soon after the election.

The session will take place at Casey City Council at Bunjil Place (2 Patrick NE Drive, Narre Warren) from 6.30 – 8.30pm on Wednesday 29 May 2024.
