Kiama Council has finalised its State of the Municipality Report for 2016–2021, which summarises the work of the previous Council.

The Report details the unprecedented challenges faced over the last five years, such as bushfires, storms, floods and COVID-19, as well as significant achievements such as the construction of Blue Haven Bonaira, Jamberoo Sports Precinct, Minnamurra Bike Skills Track and Gerringong Library and Museum.

Environmental achievements include the rollout of photovoltaic energy systems across Council buildings, helping found the Cities Power Partnership and committing to a zero emissions target by 2031.

The Report also lists key planning outcomes such as the Kiama Local Strategic Planning Statement, Kiama Town Centre Study, Kiama Health Plan and Aboriginal Cultural Sites project.

A particular focus of the Report is the expansion of youth services through SENTRAL and major events including the Youth Festival.
