Tonight marks the beginning of Ramadan, a holy month of fasting and prayer observed by Muslims in Canada and around the world.
Ramadan is a time of introspective reflection, empathy for those who suffer, and generosity towards the less fortunate. Muslims who are observing Ramadan will fast from dawn to dusk and then gather with family and friends for a shared evening meal, known as iftar.
