Statement On Hon Ron Boswell AO's State Funeral

NSW Nationals

Nationals' leader David Littleproud has thanked the Prime Minister for offering a State Funeral to the family of The Hon Ron Boswell AO to recognise his distinguished life and service.

"Ron Boswell was a one-of-a-kind politician who achieved great things, and I am delighted that we can honour his life with a State Funeral," Mr Littleproud said.

"It is an important gesture for his family, The Nationals and the everyday Australians that he relentlessly fought for and helped over his lifetime of public service.

"Few Commonwealth Parliamentarians have rendered service to regional and rural Australia of such length and enduring significance as that of The Hon Ron Boswell AO.

"A State Funeral is a fitting opportunity for Australians, and particularly Queenslanders, to formally acknowledge Mr Boswell's extraordinary contribution to his state and country."

The State Funeral is being held this Friday, January 16, at the Cathedral of St Stephen, 249 Elizabeth St, Brisbane. Doors will open at 9 am, and attendees are requested to be seated by 9.30 am.
