Stay informed - flood threat reduced

Advice as of 4.30pm Saturday 16 December 2023

Warning level: ADVICE

Warning area: Cairns

This update is from the Cairns Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG).

Flooding is easing throughout the Cairns region, with the Barron, Mulgrave and Russell Rivers at minor flood level.

Persistent rain is forecast for the remainder of the weekend, which could lead to water over roads.

Residents should never walk, ride or drive through flood waters. Motorists are reminded to always drive to the conditions and obey all road closure signs and detours.

If it's flooded, forget it.

This is the final flooding advice in relation to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.

The Cairns Local Disaster Management Group has stood down.
