It will be alleged, the man stole a white Toyota Land Cruiser Ute equipped with an industrial-sized water tank and heavy-duty pressure sprayer from a property on Warren Road on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
The Ute was identified by the owner on Monday, 16 March 2026, who identified it travelling in the Lower Chittering area and disturbed the man allegedly stealing items from a shed at a property on Wanaka Road before he fled the location.
A Police Air Wing aircraft was deployed to the area, where crew on board located and tracked the Ute as it entered Avon Valley National Park, observing it driving along multiple dirt tracks and deep into surrounding bushland before becoming bogged. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Ground units were guided to the man's location where he was arrested and taken into custody.
