A man has been arrested after an alleged pursuit on the Central Coast.
About 1.30pm today (Friday 11 July 2025), officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were informed that a red Mitsubishi Titan had been stolen and was driving erratically along the Pacific Highway, Tuggerah.
It will be alleged that the driver of the Mitsubishi – a 62-year-old man – had stopped to render assistance to a man who was seen lying on the roadway at the location.
The man has then allegedly entered the vehicle and drove from the scene.
At 1.35pm officers sighted the vehicle travelling along Wyong Road, Berkeley Vale, and attempted to stop the vehicle.
When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later road spikes were successfully deployed along Then Entrance Road, Long Jetty.
Police will further allege that the 50-year-old driver ran from the scene but was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where inquiries are continuing.
There were no reports of any injuries or damage.
As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with information about the incident – or has any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Wyong Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
