Stolen car crashes at Woodville Gardens

A stolen car has crashed at Woodville Gardens this morning.

The Toyota sedan was stolen from Hanson Road, Woodville Gardens while the owner popped into a store just before 5am on Thursday 28 September. His adult son remained seated in the rear of the car however an unknown man jumped into the car and drove off.

During a struggle with the offender, the car crashed into a light pole on Liberty Grove.

The suspect, described as of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie and mask, ran off and was last seen heading north towards Ridley Grove about 5am.

Police searched the area but have not yet located the suspect.

The victim sustained minor injuries in the collision but did not require medical treatment.

Liberty Grove is currently closed between Ridley Grove and Eighth Avenue while police clear the scene and SA Power Networks repair the damaged light.
