Stolen car found burnt out in Ferntree Gully

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft and destruction of a car this month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a man on a bicycle entered a carpark at a shopping centre on Springvale Road in Glen Waverley about 1.30pm on 9 May.

The man stole a 1998 Nissan Pulsar which was subsequently involved in a minor collision in Glen Iris and a petrol theft in Burwood on the same day.

The stolen vehicle was located burnt out at the Rita Matthews tennis courts in Ferntree Gully on 13 May.

Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as Caucasian, aged 15-25-years-old, short dark hair, medium build and was wearing a black hooded jumper, blue t-shirt, black Adidas shorts and red runners.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
