Stolen Motor Vehicle Charges At Armadale

Rapid Apprehension Squad detectives have charged a man with several offences following an incident that occurred in Maddington on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.

About 8.00pm, it will be alleged the man stole a Hyundai i30 hatchback from outside a fast-food restaurant on Albany Highway.

The Hyundai was sighted by police a short time later on Rupert Street in Armadale.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and will further allege the driver failed to stop and took off, driving recklessly and dangerously through multiple streets at high speed.

During the incident, the Hyundai drove into rubbish bins, collided with a stationary vehicle, and rammed a police vehicle, causing significant damage.

The Hyundai suffered mechanical failure at the intersection of Green Avenue and Forrest Road, where the driver was taken into police custody.

An 18-year-old Ballajura man has been charged with the following offences:

• 1 x 'Steal Motor Vehicle and Drive Recklessly'

• 1 x 'Reckless Driving to escape pursuit by police'

• 1 x 'Aggravated Fail to Stop'

• 1 x 'No Authority to Drive (Disqualified)'

• 2 x 'Driver fail to stop - property damage'

The man has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 15 October 2025.
