A man will face court after the pursuit of a stolen ute in the state's west overnight.
About 11.45pm yesterday (Saturday 31 May 2025), officers attached to Central West Police District were patrolling Officers Parade, Condobolin, when they attempted to stop a ute, which had been reported stolen from Forbes last Wednesday (28 May 2025).
When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, a man and a woman left the vehicle on High Street, Condobolin, with a 21-year-old man arrested on Craft Crescent.
When the ute was searched police seized ammunition, a knife, housebreaking tools, and methamphetamine.
The man was taken to Condobolin Police Station where he was charged with 14 offences,
- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse
- Assault police officer in execution of duty without aggravated bodily harm
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty
- Carry cutting weapon upon apprehension
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Possess housebreaking implements
- Refuse or fail to submit to breath test
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
- Possess prohibited drug
- Custody of knife in public place, and
- Breach of bail.
The man has been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 1 June 2025) via AVL.
Inquiries continue to identify the woman.
