Two people have been charged after police stopped an allegedly stolen vehicle on the Gold Coast yesterday afternoon, 30 May.
It will be alleged at 4.15pm, police observed a stolen black BMW in Labrador. The vehicle stopped in Melanie Place and the occupants, a man and woman, got into a second stolen car, a white Haval and drove off.
Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device and the vehicle stopped on Smith Street at Pacific Pines. The male driver and female passenger were arrested.
A 19-year-old Labrador man has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property. He has also been charged with one count each of enter dwelling and unlicenced driving.
The 18-year-old Kingston woman has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of receiving tainted property, possession of category M weapon (extendable baton), possession of dangerous drug (methylamphetamine) and possession of drug utensil (pipe).
Both will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday 1 June.
It will be alleged the Haval was stolen from a Pacific Pines address on Friday night and the BMW from a Runaway Bay residence around midday on Saturday.
