Stolen Vehicle Incident, Runaway Bay

Police have taken three teenagers into custody following the alleged theft of a vehicle and injury to a woman in Runaway Bay this afternoon, 27 September.

Shortly before 4pm, it will be alleged three teenagers entered a Morala Avenue address when the occupants attempted to prevent their black Mercedes from being stolen.

As a result, a 54-year-old woman was struck by the vehicle as the teenagers fled the scene in it.

The woman was transported to hospital with critical injuries.

The stolen vehicle was tracked by police to the M1 Pacific Motorway Yatala South Interchange, where three teenagers were taken into custody, shortly before 4.30pm.

A crime scene has been declared on Morala Avenue and investigations are ongoing.
