Stolen Vehicles Charges At Gold Coast

Police have charged two people following the successful interception of two stolen vehicles at Nerang yesterday, October 8.

Around 12.15pm, officers were alerted to a stolen grey Mercedes-Benz C300 being driven along Frank Street at Labrador.

The vehicle had been reported to police as being stolen from Seaworld Drive at Main Beach around 11pm on 7 October.

Police monitored the Mercedes-Benz, and it will be alleged a short time later the vehicle stopped at a business on Gateway Drive at Biggera Waters. A female passenger entered the store, where it is alleged, she collected a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which had been booked in for tyre repairs.

The motorbike had been reported as being stolen to police from Muriel Henchman Drive at Main Beach around 5pm on 7 October.

It will be alleged the Mercedes-Benz and Harley Davidson were then driven southbound along the M1 towards Nerang, where a tyre deflation device (TDD) was successfully deployed on Nerang-Broadbeach Road.

The Mercedes came to a stop a short time later on Paradise Street at Nerang, and the 19-year-old female driver was taken into custody.

The Harley-Davidson rider, a 40-year-old female, was also taken into custody at the same address, with the motorcycle allegedly resprayed silver to conceal its identity.

The 19-year-old Coomera woman has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, fraud, and failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.

The 40-year-old Coomera woman has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, unlawful use of motor vehicles -

use damaged or threatened to damage property, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and receiving tainted property.

Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, 9 October.

Investigations are continuing.
