Cessnock City Council is bringing back Stomp Festival Cessnock at a new location in 2025, with the event promising to be an exciting day of culinary delights, entertainment, and community spirit.
The beloved festival will take place, for the first time, on the grounds of TAFE NSW Cessnock between 10am and 8pm on 2 August. The new location will accommodate more attractions, activities, and vendors.
This year's festival is free to enter and will have something for everyone. The signature grape stomping competition will bring a splash of fun, with participants of all ages competing in the traditional winemaking process, while rolling barrel races introduce another challenge for festival-goers to enjoy.
There will be live music and entertainment throughout the day, and local producers and artisans will showcase their food, wine, craft beer and spirits, as well as unique crafts, specialty items and festival memorabilia.
The kids' zone will offer entertainment galore, including face painting and other fun activities.
Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton said he was looking forward to welcoming locals and visitors to the annual event.
"It's an important event not only for the local community but also for the economy of Cessnock and the wider Hunter Valley. By bringing visitors from outside the region, we expect to drive significant economic activity and boost local business sales, particularly in tourism, hospitality, and retail sectors," said Clr Watton.
Savannah Peterson, Director of Peterson Wines, said Stomp was an incredible chance to showcase local products.
"It's a perfect platform to introduce new audiences to the premium wines the Hunter Valley has to offer," said Ms Peterson.
Stomp Festival's return is also welcome news for accommodation providers like Jo Minett from Bonvilla Estate.
"Events like Stomp create a significant boost to the visitor economy. We are already seeing increased interest in accommodation bookings, and it's clear that the festival will bring even more people to the region for extended stays," said Ms Minett.
