Stonnington by Nature is back for spring 2026 with a full season of free events to help you get to know your local wildlife, plants and places.
Riverfest events
Deepen your connection to Country with Walk with Birrarung, a guided cultural walk led by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation. You can also slow down and reflect with the return of Breathe with Birrarung on Herring Island in partnership with Parks Victoria. Both events help you to connect with Birrarung as a living entity.
Both Riverfest events are free, but bookings are essential, and places are limited.
Wildlife, plants and places
Attract local wildlife and insects with native plants with our Native Plant Giveaways. Become a citizen scientist by taking part in a bird tour, moth spotting or pollinator walk at many beautiful locations throughout our city.
