Stonnington Waste Transfer Station Upgrades

The Stonnington Waste Transfer Station will be closed from Monday 22 June to Saturday 27 June and reopen on Sunday 28 June.

The purpose of the closure is to carry out maintenance to improve the facility.

This includes:

  • raising the roof so we can accept more green waste from trucks with trays
  • upgrading the pump and motor on the mechanical floor
  • updating the line markings and signage to make navigating the drop off points for each type of waste clearer (rubbish, cardboard, bottles, green waste, e-waste, metals).

You can still dispose of small e-waste at our recycling stations at our libraries and other Council sites.

Other council waste facilities are open as usual during this time, including the Boorondara Recycling and Waste Centre in Camberwell and the Monash Recycling and Waste Centre in Notting Hill.
