A tropical low is positioned about the southwest Arnhem district, embedded within a trough extending into the Carpentaria district. The low is expected to remain slow-moving over the next 24 hours, with broad areas of heavy rainfall on its western flank.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast for parts of the Daly and far western Arnhem districts. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 90 to 140 mm are likely.

Although showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue a gradual easing in the risk of heavy falls is expected towards late Saturday.
