Lovers of live music, nostalgia, classic cars and a great day out are invited to a street festival in Landsborough on May 17, to celebrate Australian Heritage Month and our unique Sunshine Coast history.
Celebrations begin at 10am with a special First Nations Welcome to Country, launching into entertainment for the whole family.
From 10am - 2pm you'll find a stunning classic car display, live music and entertainment.
Kids will love the hands-on activities, with everything from face-painting, pony rides and a petting zoo, to craft activities, sweet treats and more.
Sunshine Coast Council Strong Community Portfolio Councillor Taylor Bunnag said the festival would celebrate our unique Sunshine Coast heritage in a way that engaged all ages and cultures.
"The celebration continues inside the museum with an exciting new 'Bounce' exhibition, Cr Bunnag said.
"Once again, we called on our sporting community to share their stories and objects, to help build our sporting collection and gain a deeper understanding of our Sunshine Coast sporting past.
"We will continue to do this in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
"The Bounce exhibition tells our story, from the coast to the hinterland, through objects from personal collections.
"These stories, and those of the past, form the sporting landscape we play on today. They highlight the supporters cheering from the sidelines, pivotal sporting moments and the innovation that got us here.
"I encourage everyone to come along to the festival and celebrate our region's special and unique history in a fun and engaging way."
