Street Food, Sounds, And Good Vibes

Get ready Oak Flats. Eats and Beats is back and it's bringing the celebration to your doorstep on Saturday, 20 September 2025.

Shellharbour City Council is inviting everyone to hit the streets, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a full day of food, music, and community spirit. Whether you're a local or visiting from further afield, this is your chance to experience Oak Flats at its best.

This year, the Oak Flats event will join forces with Oak Flats Public School's Spring Festival, meaning the streets of Oak Flats will be bursting with fun, carnival rides, showbags, live music, eco zone activities, and much more.

Oak Flats will come alive with the latest edition of the Eats and Beats Street Series as it takes over the town centre with live music, vibrant dance performances and an electric community atmosphere. Hosting the festivities will be i98FM's much-loved radio duo, Bella and Christian, bringing their trademark energy to the stage.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the festival is a great example of how Council is reimagining public spaces and bringing communities together.

"Eats and Beats is more than just a fun day out, it's about creating opportunities for people to connect, for local businesses and artists to shine, and for our town centres to become welcoming places," Mayor Homer said.

"Oak Flats has a unique local character, and we're excited to showcase that through music, food and community-driven activities."

Mayor Homer also expressed appreciation for the support of the NSW Government in supporting the Eats and Beats Street Series.

"We are grateful to the NSW Government for their support, which has enabled us to bring this project to life."

The event supports councils to temporarily close streets to vehicles and open them up to people through placemaking activities that boost local vibrancy.

Each festival is co-designed with local schools, businesses, and community groups, ensuring the program reflects the unique identity and spirit of the town centre.
