As part of Homelessness Week 2025, Songs from the Street will bring live music and community spirit to the Elizabeth Street Mall on Thursday 7 August, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
This free public event celebrates the talents of performers who have experienced homelessness or severe housing stress.
It also raises funds for Health with Dignity, a local initiative in partnership with the Salvation Army that provides free GP appointments to people in extreme need.
Cr Mike Dutta said the event was a meaningful way to mark Homelessness Week and raise awareness through creativity and connection.
The event will feature a diverse mix of performers — from soloists and bands to spoken word and instrumental artists — with one act set to win a free recording session at MONA's Frying Pan Studios, sponsored by the City of Hobart.
Everyone is welcome. Bring your friends, enjoy the music, and help raise funds for a cause that supports health, equity and creativity in Hobart.
