Strike Force Alverstone Continues Greenacre Shooting Probe, Releases CCTV

Police have released CCTV as part of an appeal for information into a shooting in Greenacre last year.

About 10.25am Wednesday 26 July 2023, emergency services were called to a home on Narelle Crescent in Greenacre following reports of shots fired.

On arrival, police located a 30-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced initial inquiries before the matter was continued by State Crime Command's Robbery & Serious Crime Squad and Task Force Magnus under Strike Force Alverstone.

As part of ongoing inquiries, police have released CCTV of the incident as well as images of a black jeep recovered in Wiley Park on Thursday 27 July 2023.

The CCTV shows the 30-year-old victim in the driveway of the home, before he is approached by an unknown man who appeared to have been waiting in the black Jeep across the street.

The unknown man allegedly shoots the 30-year-old before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

As the investigation continues, detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, the identity of the male, or the movements of the car to come forward.
