Strike Force Raptor arrest fleeing wanted man at Auburn

A wanted man has been arrested after attempting to run from Strike Force Raptor officers at Auburn yesterday.

As part of inquiries into the whereabouts of a 32-year-old man, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, officers from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor attended a home at Auburn about midday yesterday (Tuesday 29 December 2020).

While police were speaking with the occupants through the front door, officers became aware that the 32-year-old man fled the home over the back fence.

Officers located the man in the rear yard of the home behind, where he was arrested.

The man was taken to Auburn Police Station before being taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to hospital for treatment to a previous injury.

Following his discharge from hospital, the man was returned to the station and charged with false representation resulting in police investigation and responsible person/custodian not disclose driver's details.

Police will allege in court that the man made a false report of a carjacking following two fail-to-stop crashes at Auburn in February.

He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 30 December 2020).
