Strike Force Raptor charge 71-year-old man with large commercial drug supply

A 71-year-old man has been charged with large commercial drug supply after Strike Force Raptor seized more than 1kg of cocaine.

In April 2019, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.

During the course of the investigation, police seized 600g of cocaine.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad, arrested a 71-year-old man at a unit on Dolphin Close, Chiswick, just after 7pm on Thursday 5 September 2019.

During a search of the unit, officers seized equipment consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs and more than 150g of cocaine, allegedly hidden in an air conditioning duct.

Police also executed a search warrant at a storage unit in Chiswick, where they seized more than 570g of cocaine, allegedly concealed in a pipe.

The man was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drugs (large commercial quantity).

He appeared at Burwood Local Court on Friday 6 September 2019, where he formally refused bail to reappear at the same court today (Tuesday 10 September 2019).
