Strike Force Vulcan Arrest, WA

Detectives from the Arson Squad’s Strike Force Vulcan have charged a man as a result of their investigation into two recent fires.

It will be alleged between 6:30pm and 7pm on Thursday 8 March 2018, the man lit a small scrub fire near the entry to the Graham Farmer Freeway. , WA Police say

Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) officers extinguished the fire and the man was conveyed to hospital for assessment.

It will be further alleged about 10:35am on Friday 9 March 2018, the man set fire to bushland on Great Eastern Highway in Darlington. The fire spread and burnt approximately two acres.

DFES officers extinguished the fire and police attended taking the man into custody.

The 27 year old man from Narembeen has been charged with two counts of Wilfully Light Bush Fire.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 10 March 2018.
