Stuarts Point pumping

Significant rainfall in Stuarts Point last week triggered pumping to start on Thursday 22 September.

Groundwater levels remain at a high level.

Rainfall is forecast but additional pumping is expected to be minimal over the October long weekend.

Council have set up pumps and staff are on standby should pumping be needed.

Council staff will continue to monitor the situation on the ground and will provide updates if conditions change.

Fire & Rescue trucks and NSW SES volunteers are on standby and have provided sandbags.

Groundwater levels

The level at Bore 1 is currently FALLING and measured 4.660 AHD at 1.00pm on 30 September down from 4.710 AHD at 7:00am 24 September.

The March 2021 peak was 5.42m AHD.

The March / April 2022 peak was 5.57m AHD.

Council staff and emergency services are monitoring the situation and through groundwater level monitors.
