Student In Custody After Teen Injured - Granville South

A teenage boy is in custody and another is being treated in hospital for a cut to his abdomen after an incident at a high school in Granville South.

Emergency services were called to the school on Rowley Road about 10.15am (Thursday 20 August 2026), responding to reports a 14-year-old boy had been injured.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command have been told the boy suffered a cut to his abdomen and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance before being taken to hospital. His condition is described as stable.

A second student, also aged 14, was detained on-site before police arrived and took him into custody. A knife has been seized and taken for further examination.

Police remain on scene working with staff at the school; no further incidents have been reported, and all students are reported to be safe.

Officers are now waiting to speak everyone involved as inquiries continue.
