Stunning Designs For New Sunbury TAFE Revealed

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is a step closer to delivering a new, state-of-the-art TAFE campus in Melbourne's north-west.

Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney today revealed designs for Kangan TAFE's new $25 million TAFE campus at Sunbury opening in 2028.

Lead by Spowers Architects, the design will feature First Nations cultural elements and artwork developed in consultation with Traditional Owners.

The new campus is designed to accommodate up to 200 students at any one time. Courses on offer are likely to include digital technologies, education support, and hair and beauty, as well as foundation skills like vocational English.

Kangan TAFE was chosen to deliver the new campus based on its experience in delivering training in high priority areas for Sunbury and the surrounding area. The new TAFE will complement Kangan TAFE's existing campus in Broadmeadows and a planned new campus in Melton.

Meanwhile, Kangan TAFE is already offering courses in Sunbury through the Hume Global Learning Centre, including vocational English and the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The first students to benefit from this investment completed their courses in November. The students who have completed their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will now be qualified to join Victoria's future vocational trainers.

The new Sunbury campus is being funded through the Labor Government's Building Better TAFE Fund, which is delivering the best facilities for students to train in, close to home.

As well as Kangan TAFE's two new campuses, the fund is also providing a Centre of Excellence for Disability Inclusion at The Gordon in Geelong and a Bendigo TAFE Learning Hub in Castlemaine.

As stated by Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney

"With these stunning designs revealed, we're another step closer to delivering a state-of-the-art TAFE campus right here in Sunbury."

"We're building engaging and flexible learning environments for a growing Sunbury community. From hair and beauty to digital tech and education support this campus is about job-ready skills that matter.
