Sturt Creek Fatal Crash Charges

Major Crash Investigators have charged a man in relation to a fatal crash in Sturt Creek on Friday 11 September 2020.

The crash occurred approximately 40 km from the Ringers Soak Community on Gordon Downs Road when a Mitsubishi Triton utility that was travelling south on the road and a Toyota Hilux utility that was traveling north on the road collided head-on with each other.

A 29-year-old male passenger in the Toyota Hilux died at the scene, while the 28-year-old male driver and two other male passengers received serious injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi Triton utility, a 36-year-old man, received lower leg fractures.

A 36-year-old man, who was driving the Mitsubishi Triton, has been charged with:

- Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death

- 2 x Dangerous Driving Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm

- Dangerous Driving Occasioning Bodily Harm

He will appear in court at a later date.
