Summer Foreshore Targets Anti-social Acts in S. Sydney

Police are targeting anti-social behaviour on land and water as part of an ongoing operation in South Sydney.

Operation Summer Foreshore will run between Saturday 16 November 2025 to Sunday 1 February 2026, targeting the Grand Parade, Brighton Le Sands, the foreshore area and surrounding roads, public parks, including the waters of Botany Bay.

The operation will be conducted by officers from St George Police Area Command with assistance from Marine Area Command, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Central Metropolitan Region High-Visibility Policing Unit.

Over the period, officers will patrol the foreshore in all-terrain vehicles, Traffic and Highway Patrol officers will monitor surrounding streets and water police will be deployed in Botany Bay.

Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism, Yasmin Catley said police already deliver outstanding reactive work, but it's through decisive, proactive policing that we see their excellence on display.

"As the weather warms and more people head to our streets, beaches and waterways, we'll see an increase in antisocial behaviour, particularly around jet ski use, and police are stepping up their presence and enforcement accordingly," Minister Catley said.

"Proactive policing is one of the strongest tools we have to prevent crime before it occurs.

"Operation Summer Foreshore sends a clear message to anyone who thinks they can disrupt the safety of our streets or waterways with antisocial or reckless behaviour - that police will not tolerate it.

"I want to thank our police for their unwavering commitment to community safety, especially over summer, when most people are winding down. At this time police are intensifying their efforts to keep everyone safe."

Member for Rockdale, Steve Kamper said Botany Bay is a shared space intended for the safe enjoyment of everyone.

"Operation Summer Foreshore is about keeping locals safe and it's a reminder that reckless and antisocial behaviour on our waterways and in our public spaces won't be tolerated.

"I want to thank Acting Superintendent David El-Badawi and the entire St George NSW Police Area Command for their commitment. Their proactive work makes a very real difference to the safety of our community."

St George Police Area Commander A/Supt El-Badawi, said the operation was part of a proactive response to anti-social behaviour in high-risk areas.

"This is a high-visibility operation designed to promote public safety and deter criminal behaviour," Supt El-Badawi said.

"There have been several incidents involving jet skis in recent months. Patrolling the Botany Bay foreshore, on land and in the water, will ensure the public take care when operating jet skis and follow the rules and regulations, particularly relating to speed and safe driving."

"Police will also target traffic and anti-social offences around Brighton Le Sands, promoting community safety by engaging with residents and visitors in the area."

"We will continue our focus on proactive, high-visibility operations, to both deter and detect crime over the summer months," Supt El-Badawi said.

Anyone with information about incidents relevant to this operation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
