Sunbury stabbing arrest

Police have arrested a 31-year-old Sunbury man in relation to an ongoing assault investigation.

A man attended Sunbury Police Station about 7am on 14 September 2018 with a stab wound to his neck.

He told police that he confronted a man dumping rubbish in Horne Street about 6.40am and an altercation took place and he was stabbed.

The offender was last seen heading towards Gap Road.

A warrant was executed in Aitken Street, Sunbury this morning and the 31-year-old arrested.

He has been interviewed and charged with intentionally causing serious injury and other offences and has been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court at a later date.
